• Welcome to the Lakeshore Power Alliance Program.
  • On March 20, 2012, residents voted and approved electricity aggregation for their communities.
  • Lakeshore Power Alliance communities are expected to save between 41%_and 55% on electricity rates.

Lower Electricity Rates

Eligible residents and small businesses in the Villages of Glenview, Kenilworth, Northfield, and Wilmette (collectively called the Lakeshore Power Alliance) will experience lower electricity rates.1

Residents in the Lakeshore Power Alliance communities approved a referendum authorizing community leaders to buy electricity in bulk from a supplier other than ComEd. After an extensive bidding process, the Lakeshore Power Alliance has selected MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (mc2), to provide electricity supply services to member communities through May 2015.

For more information and program details, visit our FAQs or your individual community link.

1 Savings estimates are illustrative and based on a comparison of the mc2 rate to an estimated ComEd Basic Electric Service rate starting June 2014 through May 2015, including estimated Purchased Electricity Supply Charge and the estimated Transmission Services Charge, and a Purchased Electricity Adjustment (PEA) Charge estimated at 0.5 cents/kWh. The estimated ComEd rate was derived by mc2 by taking the current rate and adjusting it for the increase in capacity cost and projected energy supply costs for a single family account with average annual usage.
