Eligible residents and small businesses in the Villages of Glenview, Kenilworth, Northfield, and Wilmette (collectively called the Lakeshore Power Alliance) will experience lower electricity rates.1
Residents in the Lakeshore Power Alliance communities approved a referendum authorizing community leaders to buy electricity in bulk from a supplier other than ComEd. After an extensive bidding process, the Lakeshore Power Alliance has selected MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (mc2), to provide electricity supply services to member communities through May 2015.

1 Savings estimates are illustrative and based on a comparison of the mc2 rate to an estimated ComEd Basic Electric Service rate starting June 2014 through May 2015, including the Purchased Electricity Supply Charge, Transmission Services Charge, and the Purchased Electricity Adjustment (PEA) Charge estimated at 0.0 cents/kWh. For comparison purposes, the ComEd PEA charge is estimated at 0.0 cents/kWh but can vary monthly between -0.5 and 0.5 cents/kWh.
