Eligible residents and small businesses in the Villages of Glenview, Kenilworth, Northfield, and Wilmette (collectively called the Lakeshore Power Alliance) will experience significantly lower electricity rates. The Lakeshore Power Alliance communities are expected to save between 15% and 22% on the supply portion of their electricity bills.1
Residents in the Lakeshore Power Alliance communities approved a referendum authorizing community leaders to buy electricity in bulk from a supplier other than ComEd. After an extensive bidding process, the Lakeshore Power Alliance has selected MC Squared Energy Services, LLC (mc2), to provide electricity supply services to member communities through May 2015.

¹ Savings estimates are illustrative and based on a comparison of the mc2 rate to the comparable ComEd Basic Electric Service rate in effect October 1, 2013, including the Purchased Electricity Supply Charge, Transmission Services Charge, and the expected Purchased Electricity Adjustment (PEA) Charge. The Illinois Commerce Commission's Plug-In-Illinois website states "It is expected that the Purchased Electricity Adjustment for the period until May 2014 will be a charge of 0.5 cents per kWh."
